The Co-Mission Podcast

This is the start to our Summer Series covering the talks and seminars from REVIVE 2025. We are so grateful to so many who helped make REVIVE possible, all for the glory of our Saviour.

This first talk is from Andy Mason, Mission Director of Co-Mission and Pastor at St. John's Chelsea, on the "Co-Mission Convictions," all about the importance of, and our heart for reaching the needy people of this city with the gospel.

If you want to learn more about what Co-Mission is, please check out our website at www.co-mission.org or email us at media@co-mission.org with your ideas or suggestions.

In this episode of the Co-Mission Podcast, we interview Jonny Burgess about a new church plant in Hackbridge. Jonny, currently a pastor at ChristChurch Balham, shares his journey from growing up in Sussex, coming to faith, and serving in The Gambia, to preparing for church planting in South London. We cover the unique challenges and joys of starting a new church, the importance of team building, prayer, and support from the wider church network.
Jonny discusses spiritual attack, personal struggles, and the value of humility and vulnerability in ministry. The episode also highlights practical steps in church planting, community outreach, and the significance of relying on God’s plan.

The Co-Mission Podcast is all about the church planting efforts of many faithful people in the Co-Mission network of churches in London. We see to honour the Lord Jesus in all we do and we're passionate about reaching the lost by, along with others, planting churches into unreached areas of the city.
If you have questions or comments, or have a suggestion on how we can make this podcast a more helpful resource, email us at media@co-mission.org

We were blessed to have over 400 men from around the Co-Mission network gather for a morning of worship, prayer, fellowship and teaching from the book of Matthew. We were grateful to all who were involved in serving, teaching, or being part of our excellent panel discussion. Our guest speaker was Kev Murdoch.

Kev trained at Oak Hill Theological College and St. Mellitus College, as well as completing the Ministry Training Scheme at St. Helen’s Bishopsate. Before going into paid Christian work, Kev worked for several years as a solicitor in the City. Kev is married to Laura, and they have three (lively!) children - Rory, Jessie & Evie.

We're expanding our podcast conversation to include more aspects and people involved in; church planting. In this episode, we've got a guest host to go along with our guest! Lizzie Holmes from Hope Church Sutton interviewed by Em Edwards from St. Peter's Fulham. They talk about the privaledge, encouragements, and challenges of kids and youth ministry in various church contexts here in London. We hope you enjoy their conversation.

Do drop us a line at media@co-mission.org  if there's something about church planting you'd love to hear about, and we'll see if we can get someone on to talk about it!

It was a joy to gather as women from around the Co-Mission network at Women’s Day 2025. We are so thankful to Kimberley Davis from the Globe church for preaching to us from one Thessalonians on the topic of working and waiting, living lives empowered by the gospel. This episode features both talks. We hope they’re encouraging to you!

The gospel is good news! But my friends think it's terrible. The gospel is beautiful! But my friends think Christianity looks ugly. The gospel changes lives! But my friends think Christians are odd. Is there anything that can be done? Is there any hope of living and speaking for Jesus in our world today? YES! And we don't need to be weird to do it.

Connor is a member of the church family at Christ Church Balham and the UCCF London Team Leader supporting university students to live and speak for Jesus through diverse evangelistic communities called Christian Unions. He equips students to think about how to creatively engage students with the gospel. Although from Dorset has now spent a decade in London and loves London and the people there.
